Resume

Lilin Yi, distinguished professor at School of Integrated Circuits / School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Deputy Director of State Key Laboratory of Photonics and Communications. His main research is focused on intelligent fiber-optic communication systems and intelligent fiber laser systems. He has published more than 100 papers in leading optoelectronics journals such as Light: Science & Applications, Optica, and Laser & Photonics Reviews, and was listed in the world's top 2% scientists. One of his papers published in Light: Science & Applications was selected as a cover paper and featured in the "News & Views" section. He solved the problem of fast and accurate modeling of fiber-optic communication systems and released the intelligent optical transmission open-source simulation platform (ifibertrans.sjtu.edu.cn), which has been widely adopted by peers. He solved the problem of intelligent control of ultrafast lasers, and the related work was selected by the Optical Society of America's journal Optics & Photonics News as one of the Top 30 Optical Advances of 2019, and also included in the Top 10 Optical Advances in China in 2019. The research results have been transferred to industry and won the Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Award from the China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Promotion Association. He has given 6 invited talks/workshop presentations at the flagship optical communication conferences OFC/ECOC, served as an OFC TPC member (2017-2019, 2023-2025), and organized 4 OFC/ECOC workshops. He is the principal investigator of projects such as the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Major Scientific Research Instrument Development Program, and key projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
